| Employee Assistance
Program
Employee
Assistance Programs (EAP), are established to assist the employees
to overcome mental, emotional, family, and work problems to prevent
adverse effects of such problems on work and workplace. Employees
can personally refer or be referred by supervisors for the services
of Employee Assistance Program. Employee Assistance Programs have
been very effective in optimizing the overall health of employees,
reducing employee turnover, and promoting a productive, peaceful
and health workplace.
Developing an in-house Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) is usually very costly, and it may lead to suspiciousness
of the employee regarding confidentiality of the problems they face.
Furthermore, due to the different nature of different businesses,
one employee assistance program may not suit all businesses. The
benefits of an off-site specialized employee assistance program
include cost containment and minimizing concerns about confidentiality
and conflict of interest.
Based on these concerns, Occupational Mental Health
and Psychiatry Program at Okaloosa Mental Health and NeuroPsychiatric
Center designs off-site specialized employee assistance programs
for businesses in Okaloosa County and surrounding communities.
